I watched and liked Pride and Prejudice *GASP*!!!!!!!

Well it is true and I admit it! I REALLY like the Pride & Prejudice movie. But there are a few things in that I thought was not true to the time period. Like the mother being the one making all the desicions about her duaghters getting married and the disrespect to the father.
I did notice that when Mr. Darcy was going to marry Elizabeth that he was the ONLY one who went to Mr. Bennett to ask his permission to marry his daughter and that was the only time you see Mr. Bennett with a smile on his face and more joy in the house.
All in all this is one of my favorite movies. =) And there is no action or fighting. *gasp*

*gaaassspp*
Wow!
Well, if you liked that one except for the particular things, you'd really like the BBC Pride and Prejudice.
It is WAY better, explains more, and they're much more 'Regency-ish' than this one is (you know, disrespectful, etc.)
You'd really like it! :)
Wow! You like Pride and Prejudice! 'gasp'
Hey, that movie is my Dad's favorite all time!
I love that story! (Though we, like all the other old fogies, prefer the BBC version)
I thought that in the new one, Mr. Darcy looked like a turnip. Isn't that awfully uncharitable of me? Ah Well.
Yes, you should totally watch the BBC version of P&P! Although it's around 5 hours long, it's still good! :) I like the clothes of that time period. But I am sorta suprised that you liked such a chick flick! Great thing to tease you about..lol! :) Oh, and while you're at it, read the book! Once you do that, I'll have more Jane Austen books to suggest....are you ready?!
Yeah the movie is great - but there are a few things my Dad didn't want us watching twice - I was devastated... it's one of my favorite movies!!!! So he edited it for us. Cool huh? Now we can watch it.... Ü
Awsome!!! I love that movie too!!!
That's funny Zac! After you loving the Lord of the Rings, you'd think that a movie as this one would be boring! LOL...
I haven't seen this movie yet, but I LOVE Sense and Sensibility (same author), so I bet I'd like this one. Do you think it's kid appropriate, or for the whole family??
Vanessa
Anonymous,
Tease away! :P
I do plan on reading the book after I finish the ones your brother loaned me. (which I am loving right now :D)
Vanessa,
I was very surprised that I liked it myself.
I thought it was clean, there was only one curse word which it was a guy calling himself a *donkey* (if you will). While this is a romantic movie I was pleased that there is not any...uh... inappropriate scenes, or even kissing. There is only one kiss in the WHOLE movie and it is at the end, the closing scene actually.
You are a kindred spirit! Because I live in a family with 6 sisters, I have had the privaledge of watching Pride and Predjudice more times than I can count! However, I watch the BBC version(5 hours) and I like it much better than the new one with Kiera Knightly. I do realize that those are fightin' words to some, but it's true. Sorry! You should watch it!
God Bless,
Josh
Wow Zac! That's great:) I loved that movie as well....:)
By the way, I'm the Vanessa from the THSC Conference..I'm Leah's friend. Just thought I'd clear that up!
WOW!! I am guessing Leah told you about my blog then? Thanks for visiting my blog.
I hoped you had a good time at THSC with all the rug-rats! :P
hahaha this is really funny, i got my 17 year old brother to watch this movie and he liked it too! lol
